“Ecclesiastical History” derives from the Latin phrases “Historia Ecclesiastica” or “Historia Ecclesiae.” This website is all about Church History, documenting the history of Christianity from the ministry of Lord Jesus Christ up to contemporary times. Christianity began spreading initially from Jerusalem, and then throughout the Near East, ultimately becoming the state religion of Armenia in A.D. 301 , of Ethiopia in A.D. 325, of Georgia in A.D. 337, and then the State church of the Roman Empire in 380 A.D. Becoming common to all of Europe in the Middle Ages, it expanded throughout the world during the Age of Exploration. Christianity has thus become the world’s largest religion.
